This policy explains what information Locus (locusmaths.com, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and your rights over it. Locus is a free revision tool, used mainly by students. We try to collect as little as possible and to be plain about what we do.
Locus is a free study service operated by the individual who runs it. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@locusmaths.com. For UK data-protection purposes, we are the data controller for the information described below.
If you use Locus as a guest (without signing in), your progress is stored only in your own browser, on your device. None of it is sent to us. If you clear your browser data, it is gone.
If you create an account, we collect and store:
We do not collect your surname, address, phone number, date of birth, or any payment details. Your password is handled securely by our login provider and is never visible to us.
We use your information only to provide Locus to you: to save your progress, sync it across the devices you sign in on, and show you your effort score and weak spots. That is all. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you create an account, we process your data to provide the service you have asked for, and on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete your account (see Your rights).
Your account data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the UK/EU (London region). Data is encrypted in transit (your connection to Locus uses HTTPS), and strict access rules mean each account can only ever see its own data. We keep your data for as long as your account exists; if you ask us to delete it, we remove it.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. The only processor involved is Supabase, our hosting and database provider, which stores and serves the data on our behalf so Locus can work. We would only disclose data if required by law.
Locus is used mainly by students, including people under 18. We keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the service (a name, an email, and your progress), and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. If you are under 18, please make sure you are happy to share your email and that a parent or guardian is aware you use Locus. If a parent or guardian would like us to remove a young person’s data, contact us and we will.
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to:
To do any of these, email info@locusmaths.com and we will act on it. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
Locus uses your browser’s local storage to run the app: to remember your progress and keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
We may update this policy as Locus develops. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear in the app.
